Petrol bomb hurled at Vadapalani lodge; none injured

While no persons were injured in the attack, glass panes and furniture in the reception area of the lodge were damaged, police said.

CHENNAI: Tension prevailed at Arcot road in Vadapalani on Friday night after unidentified persons hurled petrol bombs (Molotov cocktail) at the reception area of a lodge here.

While no persons were injured in the attack, glass panes and furniture in the reception area of the lodge were damaged, police said.

According to police sources, the incident happened around 10 pm. The lodge was run by Thameem Ansari of Vadapalani.

The miscreants had come on a two-wheeler and hurled petrol bombs before fleeing. On information, Police and personnel from Tamil Nadu fire and rescue services reached the scene. The fire was put out before it could cause more damage.

Virugambakkam police are investigating the identity of the suspects based on CCTV footage in the neighbourhood.
