Pachaiyappa’s College students arrested for ruckus on bus in Chennai

According to a Thanthi TV report, the arrested students, identified as Puviyarasan, Jeeva, and Pavithran, are second-year students from the college who hail from Tiruvallur.

CHENNAI: City Police have arrested three college students for Thursday's ruckus atop the MTC bus. A group of youth climbed on the government bus and caused a public nuisance near Pachaiyappas College. Police sources said that the student group indulged in the nuisance after the college management allegedly prevented them from celebrating Pongal inside the college campus.

Subsequently, three students coerced and gathered a group and stopped the MTC bus (15 B) plying along Poonamallee High Road and climbed atop the bus. Meanwhile, Kilpauk Police registered a case. The arrested persons were identified as R Jeeva (20) of Red Hills, S Pavithran (20) of Kannigaipair near Thiruvallur and K Puviarasu (19) of Thirukandalam, Thiruvallur district. Search is on for others involved.
