CHENNAI: Taking note of several attempts by fraudsters to organise job scams to cheat aspirants, the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) reiterated that it has not hired any third-party recruitment agencies. In a notice issued to the public, the CMRL said all drives to fill vacancies are done by itself.

The statement advising caution was issued after it came to notice unscrupulous and unauthorised agencies uploading posts on popular social media sites fraudulently claiming that they were organising recruitment drives for CMRL.

It advised job seekers that intimations about hiring or appointment of the applicants is done only through a verifiable CMRL email address or authenticated letterhead. It does not communicate recruitment processes through email services provided by Gmail, Rediff mail, Yahoo, SMS, WhatsApp, or any third-party agency, it added.

All job vacancies are notified on the CMRL official website, www.chennaimetrorail.org/careers. Most importantly, CMRL has not authorised any individual, agent, or agency to charge money in exchange for jobs.

With recruitment for operations and maintenance (O&M) currently under way for CMRL phase 2, it has warned the public to fall prey to job scams. It further warned against fraudulent appointment letters.
