Newlywed man drowns in sea off Mahabalipuram while on a picnic

The Mahabalipuram police who visited the spot retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem to the Chengalpattu GH. The police have registered a case.

CHENNAI: A 30-year-old newlywed man drowned in the sea in Mahabalipuram on Sunday. Police said the deceased was Babu of Kancheepuram who works in a private firm in the locality. Babu was married a month ago to Jayalakshmi (23) who works in the same firm. On Sunday, the couple along with their families came to Mahabalipuram in a van. In the evening, while swimming on the beach Babu who went to the deeper part of the sea went missing. Soon the local fishermen started a search for Babu and in the night Babu’s body was spotted amidst the rocks on the shore. The Mahabalipuram police who visited the spot retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem to the Chengalpattu GH. The police have registered a case.
