CHENNAI: The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has signed a contract to construct a new entry-and-exit structure at the OTA Nanganallur Road Metro station on the Officers Training Academy (OTA) side.

As of now, the OTA Nanganallur station has only one entrance. The construction of an additional entrance will facilitate better accessibility to the station from both sides of GST road, said a CMRL release.

The upcoming facility will help reduce congestion, especially during peak hours, and provide seamless connectivity to nearby residential and commercial areas. This will be a major benefit for daily metro users, added the release.

The Metro has awarded the Letter of Acceptance to Sri Radha Constructions on July 30 at value of Rs 8.52 crore. T Archunan, director (Projects), CMRL, and S Vinoth Ragavendran, Managing Partner, representing the contractor, along with other CMRL officials, signed the contract.
