Mudichur fish stall owner succumbs to burns suffered in hot oil spill

Police said Kannan who was under treatment in Intensive care died on Monday morning. Peerkankaranai police have registered a case and further inquiry is on.

CHENNAI: A 40-year-old man died after hot oil accidentally fell on him at a tea shop in Mudichur on Monday. The deceased Kannan of Mudichur runs a fish stall in the locality. On Saturday, Kannan went to a tea shop in Mudichur. After having a cup of tea while coming outside the shop Kannan slipped on and hot oil, which was on the pan fell on Kannan and he suffered severe burn injuries. Soon Kannan was rushed to the Chromepet GH and from there he was shifted to the KMC since he had 65 per cent burns. Police said Kannan who was under treatment in Intensive care died on Monday morning. Peerkankaranai police have registered a case and further inquiry is on.
