MTC crew get award for helping differently abled passengers

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Tuesday presented the State awards and felicitated four Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) drivers and conductors for their exemplary service for the welfare of differently-abled persons on the occasion of International Day of Differently-Abled Persons.

An official release from the MTC said the Chief Minister handed over the award on Monday at the Secretariat to 35 persons, including a social worker, a teacher, entrepreneurs, a person who employed a large number of differently-abled persons, and drivers and conductors for their service towards the differently-abled persons in 2019 and 2020.

For 2019, driver T Chandramohan and conductor G Murthy from Tambaram depot of the MTC were given the State award, which comprises a 10-gram gold medal and a certificate. For this year, driver, R Manavalan, and S Murugan of Anna Nagar depot were presented the award for their service to the differently-abled passengers travelling on their buses.
