Minor among 4 held in break-in incidents in Chennai

CHENNAI: The Mylapore police have arrested a 50-year-old man for breaking into a house on Naatu Veerachi Street and stealing silver puja items.

Kalaichelvi (48), a domestic help, had lodged a complaint after she returned on March 31 to find her door open and the valuables missing.

Based on her complaint, Mylapore police conducted investigations and arrested the accused, Muthu of Triplicane.

The police recovered about 68 grams of silver articles and seized the two-wheeler used in the crime.

In another case in MGR Nagar police station limits, the police arrested two men for breaking into a locked building on Pillaiyar Koil Street in Jafferkhanpet and stealing brass pipes and electrical wires.

The complainant, Saravanamurugan (48), a contractor, approached police about the break-in after which police conducted investigations and arrested Vignesh (20) of Sanjay Gandhi Street and Muniappan (27) of Anna Satya Nagar, Jafferkhanpet. The police also arrested a 17-year-old boy.

The two adults were produced in court; the juvenile appeared before the board and was sent to a government home.
