Microsoft outage: Flight operations at Chennai Airport resume

According to airport officials, all flight services will be fully restored at Chennai airport by this evening.

CHENNAI:The flight services resumed as usual in the Chennai airport after 24 hours following the global outage. The printed boarding passes are now being issued for the passengers.

From Friday noon the flight services were affected in the Chennai airport following the global outage. The server issue affected the flight operations and most of the flights got cancelled and passengers were stranded in the airport.

The boarding passes for the passengers were issued only handwritten and it took more time, which caused a delay of up to three hours in the departure of the flights.

Even on Saturday morning, the 16 flight services that were about to depart and land in Chennai were announced cancelled and more than 30 flights were delayed as the server was unstable. Finally, after 11 am the issues with the server were sorted out and all the flight services were restored. 

The printed boarding passes were issued for the passengers and the flights departed from Chennai without any delay.

The officials said yesterday it was a hectic situation, but now all the services are restored and passengers can have tension-free travel as usual.
