CHENNAI: Getting water and sewage related issues will become easier as the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (Metrowater) has decided to reorganise jurisdiction of its depot offices based on the boundaries of Chennai Corporation wards.

A Metrowater press release said that delimitation commission was formed in 2011 and based on recommendations of the commission, boundaries of Chennai Corporation wards were reorganised. The details of the delimitation have been published in government gazette in 2018.

"Based the delimitation, Metrowater will also revised the boundaries of Metrowater depots and the changes will come into effect from October 1," the release said.

The release added that the delimitation of depots in line with the wards will help the public in getting services without any confusion. Also, the move will increase coordination between Chennai Corporation and Metrowater officers in the ward level.
