Metro trains to run from 5.30 am to 11 pm

To cater to office goers and air passengers, the Chennai Metro Rail has revised the timing of its services. Trains would be operated from 5.30 am to 11 pm starting Monday.

An official release issued by the CMRL said that Metro services would be in operation from 5.30 am to 11 pm from Monday to Saturday, with a peak hour headway of 7 minutes and non-peak hour headway of 10 minutes. On Sundays and public holidays, train services will be from 7 am to 10 pm without peak hour headway.

At present, the trains are operated between 7 am and 9 pm. CMRL requested all the passengers to cooperate with its security, ticketing and other staff in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing for a safe and smooth travel.
