Chennai's landmark selfie point, Namma Chennai, has been completely closed off due to the city's second phase of Metro Rail works

CHENNAI: Chennai's landmark selfie point, Namma Chennai, has been completely closed off due to the city's second phase of Metro Rail works, and iron fences have been put up to keep the public out of the area, according to a Daily Thanthi report.

As a result, people who came to take selfies on the "Namma Chennai" selfie platform were disappointed.

"Namma Chennai" selfie point will not be opened for 6 years till the completion of the metro rail project, said an official.

Works have been going on the 4th route is 26 km from Marina Beach Lighthouse to Poonamallee. As construction of viaducts and long tunnels has been planned, boards and iron rods have been erected from the lighthouse to the platform.
