Srimathi (35) of Kasimedu was working in a school run by M Premnath (38) of Tondiarpet four years ago after separating from her husband, Sudhakar of Cuddalore. She reportedly gave jewels to Premnath to expand the school. Later, Srimathi reconciled with her husband and returned to Cuddalore. As Premnath delayed returning the jewels she lent, Srimathi went to Premnath’s house with Sudhakar and her brother Muthukumar on Monday. In the midst of the wordy quarrel, Premnath let loose his pet dog, said to be a Doberman, to attack them. Srimathi, who suffered injuries, was rushed to a nearby hospital. The Kasimedu police arrested Premnath and remanded him in judicial custody. However, Premanth reportedly claimed he never received jewels and that he was blackmailed by her. Further investigation is on.
