Man kills 3 kids, self in Sriperumbudur

A 37-year-old man from Sriperumbudur killed his three children and later committed suicide on Monday allegedly due to poverty triggered by the nationwide lockdown, police said.Arumugam, from Vadamangalam in Sriperumbudur, was a daily wager. His wife Govindammal (32) was working at a private firm.

The couple had three children Rajeswari (12), Shalini (10) and Sethuraman (8).When Govindammal returned home from work, she found Rajeswari lying dead while the rest were missing. Arumugam was found hanging from a tree near the house while the bodies of the other two children were recovered from a well nearby. During investigation police found that Arumugam had mixed poison in the food and gave it to his children.
