TIRUCHY: The monitoring officer for Tiruchy district inspected the ongoing process for the disbursal of Mahalir Urimai Thogai scheme on Thursday and asked to conduct special camps for enrolment on all days, including Sundays to ensure the benefit reaches all the eligible women.

Principal Secretary of Tourism and HR&CE and monitoring officer for Tiruchy Dr K Manivasan, who inspected the special camp arrangements for Mahalir Urimai Thogai scheme, said the phase I registration for the beneficiaries would be held from July 24 to August 4. The phase II would be held from August 5 to 16 by the PDS outlet staff who would be involved in door-to-door distribution of application and tokens.

He asked the officials to ensure proper direction to submit the application to avail the benefit. He also asked the officials to verify the Aadhaar card, ration card, EB card and bank passbooks. “Avoid crowding in the camp. Prior planning would help hassle free registration,” he told the officials.

Manivasan also asked the officials to display the details in all the PDS outlets and conduct the special camp on all days, including Sundays.

Later, he visited the special camp venues at Samayapuram, Lalgudi and Valadi and instructed them to ensure the registration process without any complaint from the people.
