Madras Institute of Technology to hold conference on robotics from Feb 19

CHENNAI: The Department of Production Technology of the Madras Institute of Technology (MIT), under Anna University, will host a two-day national conference on automation, robotics and mechatronics systems from February 19.

The National Conference on Automation, Robotics, and Mechatronics Systems (NCARMS-2026) aims to provide a platform for researchers, academicians and industry professionals to share knowledge, research findings and innovations.

The areas of the conference include Industry 4.0 and digital twin industrial robotics, mobile robotics and applications, mechatronic systems, modelling and simulation, vehicle mechatronics and autonomous vehicles, signal and image processing and control technologies, artificial intelligence and deep learning, and smart and sustainable materials and manufacturing.

A senior professor from the university said the conference would focus on emerging trends in intelligent automation, advanced robotics, AI-driven systems and sustainable mechatronic technologies.

The professor said that MIT was also focused on developing educational avenues for students to emerge as disciplined researchers, technocrats and entrepreneurs, to make a transformative impact in the field of production engineering and automation.

He added that the institute imparts knowledge on modern manufacturing and automated systems by fostering critical thinking, leadership qualities and communication and interpersonal skills, while creating a conducive environment for the exchange of multidisciplinary ideas in research, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship to address societal needs with optimal solutions.
