Madras HC orders two-month inquiry into Tamil Film Producers Council

CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has directed the Registrar of Societies to inquire into the complaint regarding alleged violations in the Tamil Film Producers Council and complete the inquiry within two months.

Elections to the Tamil Film Producers Council have been announced for February 22, and retired HC Justice S Rajeswaran has been appointed as the Election Officer.

Meanwhile, alleging that the executive committee and general body meetings were conducted in violation of the by-laws, T Rajeswari Vendan of Virugambakkam filed a complaint on December 15 with the Inspector General of Registration and the District Registrar of Societies, seeking action over the violations.

Hearing the petition, Justice N Sathish Kumar ordered the Registrar of Societies to inquire into the complaint within two months and pass appropriate orders.
