Chennai cops seek to cancel Savukku Shankar’s bail, Madras HC directs his mother to respond

Savukku Shankar was arrested on December 13 last year based on cheating cases registered against him by the Adambakkam and Saidapet police.

CHENNAI : The Madras High Court directed YouTuber Savukku Shankar’s mother to file her response to the police petition seeking cancellation of the interim bail granted to him in a cheating case.

Shankar was arrested on December 13 last year based on cheating cases registered by the Adambakkam and Saidapet police. When his mother Kamala sought bail for him on medical grounds, the court granted him interim bail till March 25.

Meanwhile, the Saidapet inspector filed a petition seeking cancellation of the interim bail, alleging that Shankar violated the bail conditions.

It was also submitted that if he suffers any health complications, he would be admitted to Government Stanley Medical College Hospital for treatment, and that the authorities are ready to constitute a medical team to monitor his health.

Meanwhile, the Saidapet inspector filed a petition seeking cancellation of the interim bail, alleging that Shankar violated the bail conditions.

The bench also directed Shankar's mother Kamala to file her response to the petition and adjourned the case to January 19.
