Alleging that the two girls were electrocuted due to the lethargy shown by the state in undertaking flood mitigation works, Stalin, in a message posted on his Facebook page, expressed shock at their death and condemned the government for ignoring warnings, which, he claimed, had killed the children.

Earlier, in another statement, he referred to the reported enormity of vacancies in the state bureaucracy and urged the union government to immediately fill the vacancies in the state administration.

Claiming that a fifth of posts in the state bureaucracy were vacant, the LoP described it as “administrative disaster” that has put the state through real test and said the havoc wreaked by a day’s rain could have been averted at least if the bureaucrats had acted with caution.
