Juvenile, two others held for vehicle theft

SRMC police have arrested three persons including a juvenile for indulging in vehicle thefts and snatching incidents in and around Mugalivakkam.

Three bikes and a mobile phone were seized from the accused identified as S Prasad (19) of Virugambakkam, D Vivin (19) of Kundrathur and a 17-year-old boy.

 The trio was arrested based on a complaint by P Ananda Das (50) of Mugalivakkam who found his bike stolen from his premises on Saturday. While police secured the trio with the help of CCTV footage, investigation revealed they snatched a phone using the stolen bike in Ramapuram on the same night.

 While Prasad and Vivin were remanded in judicial custody, the juvenile was sent to an observation home.

 Meanwhile, ICF police arrested the bike-taxi rider who robbed a customer’s phone within a day. The accused was identified as I Rajeshkumar (23) of Kolathur. He already has a case pending against him at Rajamangalam station for burning a two-wheeler.
