CHENNAI: President Droupadi Murmu has appointed Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari of the Kerala High Court as the new Chief Justice of the Madras High Court.

The appointment follows recommendation made by the Supreme Court Collegium in view of the retirement of incumbent Chief Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava on March 5.

Justice Dharmadhikari is a native of Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
