CHENNAI: Stylist Joy Crizildaa, who is involved in a bruising legal battle with her alleged partner, celebrity chef Madhampatty Rangaraj, gave an undertaking before the Madras High Court that the social media posts in which she tagged his company would be removed.
Joy had put up several social media posts against Rangaraj, in which she had also linked his firm, Madhampatty Pakashala. Challenging this, the company filed a petition. While hearing the matter earlier, the High Court had refused to grant interim relief to her.
Subsequently, when the main case filed by Madhampatty Thangavelu Hospitality Private Limited came up for hearing before Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy, its counsel, Vijayan Subramanian, submitted that unnecessary tagging of the company's name in posts against Rangaraj, who is one of the directors of the company, had caused significant financial loss to the company, and therefore sought removal of those posts.
He also informed the court that Rangaraj intended to file an appeal against the order dismissing his petition seeking an interim injunction restraining Joy from making defamatory posts against him.
Appearing for Joy, advocate K Deepika gave an undertaking that the posts linking the Madhampatty Pakashala company would be removed within two weeks. Recording the undertaking, the judge disposed of the petition filed by the company.
Further, with a view to resolving the dispute between the parties, the judge directed both sides to suggest the name of a retired High Court judge or a senior advocate for appointment as a mediator. The hearing of the case filed by Rangaraj against Joy was adjourned to February 9.
