CHENNAI: The School Educational Department has arranged internships with various firms for vocational group students of class 11 between October 17 and 21.
In a circular from the department, it is noted that the internship will go on for 40 hours and the allowance for the same will be paid off by the government.
Students will also be given an internship completion certificate later on, added the circular.
However, to avail the internship, it is mandatory for the students to get approval letters from either the parents or gaurdians. Respective school principals have been directed to encourage more students into participating in the internship programme.
Incidentally, in the 80 hours’ internship programme held for the students last academic year, students were exposed to skill sets to enhance job opportunities.
