Increase in crowds for Deepavali in T Nagar; 300 CCTVs installed

CHENNAI: With just a week left for Deepavali, people were seen thronging T Nagar for buying clothes, jewelry, and household items.

Security has been strengthened in the area to prevent the theft during the Diwali gathering. Vehicle traffic has also been modified to reduce traffic congestion.

Chennai Police Commissioner Shankar Jiwal visited to monitor the security arrangements at T Nagar and inspected the area. He also asked the officials about the security arrangements made there.

For the first time, 6 FRX cameras have been deployed in the T Nagar area for surveillance work and 300 surveillance cameras have been installed in T Nagar, Pondy Bazaar, and other areas. Policemen are engaged in surveillance and security work on streets.
