CHENNAI: During 2024–25, ICF has achieved a record production of 3007 coaches, surpassing last year’s output of 2,829 coaches, said U Subba Rao, GM, ICF, during the Republic Day celebrations on Monday.
Of this, 1,169 are modern Indian Railways train sets like the Vande Bharat, nearly 40% of the total production. ICF produced 1,484 coaches between August and December last year with 17 Amrit Bharat rakes already delivered.
In the current financial year, ICF has planned to manufacture two rakes of Amrit Bharat 3.0, which is a combination of non-AC and AC coaches, three rakes of 15 car EMU trains and two EMU rakes with automatic doors. The 24-car Vande Bharat sleeper rake is progressing well.
