Heat to rise by 3°C in Tamil Nadu for 3 days; Chennai may touch 38°C

CHENNAI: The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai has said that heat intensity in Tamil Nadu is likely to increase by 3°C above normal till April 27.

According to the weather report, maximum temperatures in interior districts are expected to remain higher than normal during this period, which may cause discomfort to people venturing outdoors.

In Chennai and its suburban areas, the sky is likely to remain partly cloudy, with maximum temperatures expected to touch up to 38°C.

Meanwhile, moderate rainfall is likely to occur tomorrow in districts along the Western Ghats and in coastal areas of the southern districts.

The report also noted that an atmospheric trough currently extends from East Vidarbha in Maharashtra to the Comorin Sea, and a lower-level circulation prevails over the coastal parts of southern Tamil Nadu. These conditions are influencing the current weather pattern in the state.
