Foreign currency worth Rs 10 lakh seized from passenger at airport

While searching her hand baggage, foreign currency (Saudi Riyal 100 notes of 500 denominations) was recovered.

CHENNAI: Based on passenger profiling, one Sri Lankan woman passenger, bound for Colombo by flight no AI 273, was intercepted at departure by AIU officers. Her baggage/person was searched thoroughly. While searching her hand baggage, foreign currency (Saudi Riyal 100 notes of 500 denominations) was recovered. Foreign currency totally valued at Rs 10 lakh was seized from the passenger.
