Finish Poonamallee-Vadapalani Metro stretch by Feb: CM Stalin

During the review of 27 key projects that are being implemented at an estimated cost of Rs 87,941 crore by six departments, Stalin said all these projects should be completed by January

CHENNAI: The Metro Rail stretch between Poonamallee and Vadapalani should be completed by February, Chief Minister MK Stalin directed officials after reviewing the key projects of the State government on Monday.

He also instructed officials to expedite the completion of major projects such as Kuthambakkam and Chengalpattu bus termini. Stalin also directed that the construction of the skywalk connecting the Kilambakkam bus terminus with the highway should be completed at the earliest.

During the review of 27 key projects that are being implemented at an estimated cost of Rs 87,941 crore by six departments, Stalin said all these projects should be completed by January.

In all, various departments have taken up 288 projects worth Rs 3,17,693 crore, of which 85 projects have been completed, while the remaining projects are at various stages of implementation.

Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Chief Secretary N Muruganandam, and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
