At the hearing for the 2013 child kidnap case in Madurai GRH, the judge came down heavily on the state government for not implementing the High Court order.

The judge questioned why the government hospitals, at least the district headquarters hospitals and medical college hospitals, were not provided with RFID tags.

Public Prosecutor could not reply and hence Judge directed the DME to file a status report on the implementation of RFID scheme in GHs by September 29.

The case dates back to June 2013 when a one-day old baby of Meenakshi (21) was stolen from Madurai GRH.
