CHENNAI: With several politicians and celebrities greeting Tamil people on Tamil New Year, Superstar Rajinikanth wished his fans physically from his Poes Garden residence at Teynampet.

The legendary actor was seen standing on raised platform at his house's compound.

Fans were elated to catch a glimpse of their star up close. Some even offered the star a shawl and a lotus from outside.

The previous 'Bilavam' year has ended and the 'Subha Kruthu' year has begun on Chithirai 1 (April 14) in the Tamil calendar.

Rajinikanth was last seen in the Siva-directorial "Annaatthe", which released last year on Diwali. His upcoming film, tentatively titled "Thalaivar 169", will be with Nelson Dilipkumar and music composer Anirudh. The film will be bankrolled by Sun Pictures.
