Electronic devices worth lakhs robbed from Anna Univ campus

According to the complaint, two trespassers had escaped with five projectors and hardware parts from 15 computers from two building blocks of AC Tech College.

CHENNAI: Police have launched a search for burglars who escaped with projectors and electronic devices worth several lakhs from a building in Anna University’s Guindy campus. Police sources said that the Dean of AC Tech, housed within the Anna University campus, has preferred a complaint with the Kotturpuram police complaining of the theft.

According to the complaint, two trespassers had escaped with five projectors and hardware parts from 15 computers from two building blocks of AC Tech College. After realising that the gadgets were stolen, the management checked CCTV footage and found that the incident happened around midnight on October 18.

A complaint was filed with the Kotturpuram police on Sunday after which a CSR (community service register) was issued. Further investigations are on.
