Early start of campaign will bode well for us, opines PWF

Projected as an alternative to the AIADMK and DMK, the People’s Welfare Front (PWF) is confident that the early start of their election campaign will help them leverage their strengths ahead of assembly polls.

Speaking to DT Next, leaders of PWF stressed the fact that their run-up to the polls can be gauged only by their ‘early start’ to reach the public. “Just because we have not started the interview for candidates, it doesn’t mean that we are slow,” G Ramakrishnan, Secretary, CPM, TN unit, a partner of PWF, said.

According to him, they have already completed two phases of campaigning. “Even though the AIADMK and DMK are trying hard to  show that they are indifferent to PWF, it is just a pretence,” K Kanagaraj, State Secretariat  member of CPI(M) said, “PWF candidates are from the grassroots but for the two Dravidian parties, ‘overnight stars’ emerge,” he quipped.

D Ravikumar, General Secretary, VCK, said that members of PWF have a broader understanding and there won’t be any issue when it comes to seat sharing.

“We have invited DMDK and TMC to join our alliance. Let them announce their decision. Then we will decide on seats,” he said.
