DVAC raids yield Rs 12.34 lakh from govt offices

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption on Friday conducted surprise raids in various government offices across the State and seized Rs 12.34 lakh unaccounted money and documents.

The raids were conducted at 11 government offices. The highest seizure was reported in Namakkal district where Rs 5.25 lakh was seized at the office of the Assistant Director, Town and Country Planning. In Chennai, the raids were carried out at three Sub-Registrar offices in Neelankarai, Pammal and Kundrathur and Rs 2.33 lakh, Rs 12,380 and Rs 26,200 were seized.
