Duo held for snatching phone

The Tiruvanmiyur police arrested two men for allegedly snatching the mobile phone from a teen. The incident happened on December 1, when the teenager who was walking to a nearby provisional store when R Selvakumar (22) of Odaikuppam and E Morasolimaran (19) of Besant Nagar snatched his phone.

Based on a complaint by his father John Kenneth, police secured the suspects with the help of CCTV footage. Investigation revealed that they have indulged in another crime in the same area, and secured their friend V Albert Vino (22) of Besant Nagar. All three were remanded in judicial custody. Similarly, the Mylapore police arrested a duo who snatched a man’s phone at 5 am on Friday. Based on the victim Velu’s complaint, the police launched a hunt and secured Sathish and Dinesh Kumar by night. Meanwhile, a woman was snatched of her three-sovereign chain in Tirumullaivoyal. Kavitha (36) of Ganapathy Nagar was waiting outside her house when a pedestrian suddenly snatched her chain and fled the spot. A hunt has been launched for him.
