DT Campus: Blood donation camp held at RIT

The team of doctors collected a total of 200 units of blood from college students and staff.

CHENNAI: Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology, Poonamalle organised a blood donation camp in association with Annaii Medical College and Hospital, Sriperumbudur recently at Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology (RIT), Poonamalle campus. The team of doctors collected a total of 200 units of blood from college students and staff.

The Blood camp was inaugurated by Haree Shankar Meganathan, Vice Chairman, Rajalakshmi Institutions highlighted the gathering on importance of blood donation and appraised the myths and misconceptions surrounding blood donation. He said that one donor from each family can and this can reduce the pressure on blood banks and hospitals thereby resolving India’s blood crisis.

The event was a collaborative effort, with the support of the Annaii Medical College and Hospital medical team, who ensured that the donation process was safe and efficient. All COVID-19 safety protocols were meticulously observed to ensure the well-being of donors and volunteers.
