Drunk Doctor Steals Patrol Car, Takes Chennai Police On A Wild Chase

Police said that S Muthu Ganesh, a resident of Arakkoanm who practices medicine at a private hospital in Kundrathur, was caught drunk driving around 1.30 am on Harrington road.

A 31-year-old doctor from a private hospital has been arrested for driving away a police patrol vehicle after being booked for drunk driving near Kilpauk early on Sunday.

Police said that S Muthu Ganesh, a resident of Arakkoanm who practices medicine at a private hospital in Kundrathur, was caught drunk driving around 1.30 am on Harrington road. After the police seized his vehicle, around 3.30 am Muthu came to Ega signal on Poonamallee high road  and demanded his car back.

The officers asked him to go to the police station, but he drove away with the patrol vehicle when the policemen looked away.

Later, the police took a lift from a passerby, chased Muthu and caught him a few kilometres away. He was then handed over to the Kilpauk police who arrested and remanded him in judicial custody.
