Driver dies as lorry collides with truck on NH near Madurantakam

A lorry driver died in an accident after the vehicle collided with another lorry on the national highway near Madurantakam on Saturday.

CHENNAI: A lorry driver died in an accident after the vehicle collided with another lorry on the national highway near Madurantakam on Saturday. A container lorry broke down on the Tiruchy-Chennai National Highway near Maduranthagam and was parked on the roadside in the early morning. Police said a mini lorry loaded with coconuts from Dindigul was speeding on the National Highway and rammed into the container lorry. In the impact, the front part of the mini lorry got crashed and the lorry driver died on the spot. Traffic was affected on the NH for an hour following the incident.
