DGP pays floral tributes to Inspector Balamurali who lost battle to corona

DGP JK Tripathy and City Police Commissioner AK Viswanathan on Thursday paid floral tributes to inspector S Balamurali, who died of COVID-19, at Mambalam police station, where the deceased officer last served.

Additional Commissioners R Dhinakaran, Prem Anand Sinha, A Arun, HM Jayaram and other senior officials were part of the event. Also, police observed a two-minute silence as a tribute to S Balamurali across the State at 5 pm on Thursday. Cops who were on the duty at the traffic junctions too observed silence for two minutes. Balamurali was the first police officer from TN police to die of COVID after having been hospitalised for two weeks.
