When asked about the professional highs in his life, he said that controlling communal clashes in South Tamil Nadu, when he served there and nabbing the Bavaria gang of North Indian origin, which was involved in violent robberies in the state, were the highlights of his career. He brought the gang down when he was Chennai suburban commissioner. His operation against Bavaria gang was later made into a Tamil movie titled Dheeran, Adhikaram Ondru.

“I have written eight books based on my experience and I am planning to coach students who are preparing for competitive services,” said Jangid, when asked about plans after retirement.

An officer belonging to 1985 batch IPS officers, Jangid is native of Rajasthan, who made a mark in Tamil Nadu.

Jangid, who was a chief vigilance officer at MTC, Chennai was later posted as chief vigilance officer, State Transport Corporation, Kumbakonam, a newly created post, two months ago. He, however, faced the wrath of the government after he questioned the department’s practice of posting of TPS officers in posts allotted for IPS cadre officers. It may be noted that after AIADMK returned to power in the year 2011, he was kept away from sensitive posts.
