Dense fog alert issued for Chennai airport on Feb 13, may hit flight operations

CHENNAI: An alert has been issued for dense fog at Chennai International Airport for Thursday (February 13). The fog is expected to be dense from 6.30 am to 7.30 am, which can lead to early morning disruptions.

The visibility is expected to improve significantly after 8.30 am, exceeding 1,500 metres.

Expected visibility:

- 5.30 am - 6.30 am: 550 metres - 800 metres

- 6.30 am – 7.30 am: 350 metres – 550 metres (dense fog)

- 7.30 am – 8.30 am: 550 metres - 800 metres

Due to frequent early morning disruptions in the last few days, some international airlines have decided to adjust their schedules so that flights arrive in Chennai a little later than usual.
