Delhi fog disrupts flight services to northern states from Chennai

Five flights arriving from New Delhi, Andaman, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Siliguri were also affected.

CHENNAI: Flight services were disrupted on Thursday due to dense fog and adverse weather conditions prevailing across Delhi and several northern states.

According to airport sources, three flights between Chennai and northern destinations were cancelled: 2 IndiGo flights scheduled to depart to Kolkata at 12 pm and Varanasi at 5.20 pm, and one arriving from Varanasi at 11.15 pm.

Additionally, 12 other flights were delayed by a couple of hours. Of these, seven were flying to destinations including New Delhi, Secunderabad, Siliguri, Hyderabad and the Andaman Islands.

Five flights arriving from New Delhi, Andaman, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Siliguri were also affected.

Authorities have advised passengers to check flight status with airlines before arriving at the terminal.
