Decomposed body found in Cooum

Tiruvallur taluk police have sought missing complaints from other police stations in the district. Police are also awaiting the postmortem examination results to ascertain the cause of the death.

CHENNAI: Tiruvallur district police recovered a decomposed body of a man, floating on the Cooum river near Selai village in Tiruvallur district on Saturday. Locals alerted the authorities after which police and personnel from the Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services reached the village and secured the body. The body was sent to a government hospital for autopsy. Police said that the body appeared to be that of a man, aged around 40 years. Since the body was decomposed, the identity of the man could not be established immediately. Tiruvallur taluk police have sought missing complaints from other police stations in the district. Police are also awaiting the postmortem examination results to ascertain the cause of the death.
