Customs seize foreign currencies worth Rs 20L in Chennai; 3 held

The Customs on Friday intercepted three passengers from Chennai, who were about to board a flight to Singapore and Bangkok.

CHENNAI: Customs officials seized foreign currencies worth Rs 20 lakh and arrested three passengers at the Chennai airport on Friday.

The Customs on Friday intercepted three passengers from Chennai, who were about to board a flight to Singapore and Bangkok. On checking the passengers, they found two of them had US dollars and the other passenger had Saudi Riyals inside their clothes. The officials seized the currencies worth Rs 20 lakh and the three passengers were arrested and further inquiry is on.
