Coworkers kill construction worker for getting more wage

The workers allegedly pushed their colleague, S Anandan (23) of Tiruvannamalai after they learnt that he had received Rs 200 extra as a day’s wage, hoodwinking them.

CHENNAI: Three construction workers were on Monday arrested on murder charges for allegedly pushing their colleague to death from the fourth floor of an under-construction site in Velachery.

The workers allegedly pushed their colleague, S Anandan (23) of Tiruvannamalai after they learnt that he had received Rs 200 extra as a day’s wage, hoodwinking them. The arrested people were identified as V Sakthivel, 25, B Prasanth, 25 and C Srinivasan, 26.

The four men were working at a construction site in CIT Colony. On Sunday night, they invited Anandan for a drink at a construction site in Velachery and while drinking, they picked up an argument with Anandan.

In the melee, they assaulted Anandan and pushed him from the fourth floor. Anandan succumbed to injuries at the hospital. The trio was arrested.
