Covid: 1 new case from UAE, but less than 10 in Chennai

As on Thursday, 25 cases of Covid were reported in Tamil Nadu, including one imported case from UAE. Passenger had tested positive upon arrival at the international airport on Thursday.

Chennai: Over 34.53 lakh cases have been reported in the State so far. All districts recorded less than 10 cases, including Chennai, which had 8. Kancheepuram had 4 while three cases were reported in Thoothukudi and Coimbatore respectively. After 18,708 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, TN’s test positivity rate stood at 0.1 per cent. Chennai 0.4 per cent TPR, while Chengalpattu and Coimbatore had 0.6 per cent. Currently, there are 230 active cases, with Chennai recording 92 active cases. Several hospitals across the State discharged 23 more people, taking total recoveries to 34.15 lakh. No new fatality due to COVID-19 were reported in the State, while death toll stands at 38,025.
