Corporation to distribute de-worming tablets

The Greater Chennai Corporation will distribute deworming tablets to the children and students in the city from September 14.

According to a Chennai Corporation press release, the first round of de-worming would be conducted on September 14, 17 and 19, whereas the second round would be conducted on September 21, 24 and 26.

“Albendazole tablets will be given to children and students between the age of 1 to 19. Tablets will be given at urban health primary centres and ICDS anganwadi centres across the city. On September 28, tablets will be given to left out children,” the release said.

The release added that the civic body had already trained the anganwadi workers on distributing the de-worming tablets.

“De-worming will prevent anaemia among the children. During the de-worming drive, around 18.60 lakh children in the city will be benefited,” the release added.
