Cops hunt for duo behind two robberies in Ambattur

The Ambattur Industrial Estate police registered two cases in connection with two robberies reported on Monday night.

One Anil (23) of Uttar Pradesh, who stays at Menambedu and works at Ambattur Industrial Estate, was returning home from work when he was intercepted by a bike-borne duo and demanded to part with his valuables. When he refused, they allegedly attacked him with knives and relieved him of Rs 20,000 before fleeing the spot. Anil, who was treated at a private hospital, lodged a complaint at the Ambattur Estate police station.

Similarly, Manikandan (23) of Kallikuppam, who works at Ambattur Estate, was returning home when he was intercepted near Maduravoyal by-pass road by a bike-borne duo and robbed of his mobile phone. The police have collected CCTV footage from the area to ascertain if the same suspects are behind both the incidents.
