Contract worker electrocuted at GCC’s vehicle depot

Police said that he was employed as a helper at GCC’s vehicle depot on First Main Road, Shenoy Nagar. Kavinesh was working in the water wash and maintenance section.

CHENNAI: A contract worker got electrocuted at a Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) vehicle depot in Shenoy Nagar. The deceased worker was identified as Kavinesh (19), a native of Veppangulam in Sivaganga district.

Police said that he was employed as a helper at GCC’s vehicle depot on First Main Road, Shenoy Nagar. Kavinesh was working in the water wash and maintenance section.

Kavinesh was washing the battery-operated waste collection vehicle when he came into contact with a live wire and was thrown to the ground. Hearing his cries, other workers rushed to his aid and moved him to a hospital where he was declared as brought dead.
