Class 11 student attacked with knife by 5 youths in Chennai

The motive behind the attack is yet to be determined. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

CHENNAI: A Class 11 student working part time as a watercan delivery agent was brutally attacked by a 10-member gang in Saidapet on Saturday, due to an alleged previous enmity. The boy is being treated at the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital.

Three persons, including a minor, have been arrested. The 15-year-old victim is a student at a school in Nandanam. On Saturday morning, he was unloading watercans from a van when the gang rounded him up.

One of them attacked him with a sickle after which he collapsed. Hearing his screams. residents rushed to the scene and alerted the police. Probe revealed that there was previous enmity between him and the accused, who were all residents of the same neighbourhood.
