Chennai: Two youths killed in bike collision near Tiruttani

CHENNAI: Two youngsters were killed and two others injured after two motorcycles collided on the Chennai-Tirupati National Highway near Tiruttani in the early hours of Saturday. The deceased were identified as Tharun (21) of Tiruttani and Sanjeevi Raman (31) of Chromepet.

Tharun was travelling with his friend Kumar (24) towards Tiruttani from Tiruvallur when their bike collided head-on with Sanjeevi’s bike near Lakshmipuram.

Upon impact, all occupants on the bikes were thrown off the vehicles. Tharun and Sanjeevi died at the spot. Two others, Surya and Naveen Kumar, who were travelling on another motorcycle, were injured after their bike collided with the motorcycles involved in the crash. They were taken to Tiruttani government hospital and are undergoing treatment.

Kanakammachathiram police reached the spot after being alerted and removed the damaged vehicles. The bodies were sent to Tiruttani GH for post-mortem. Police registered a case and began an investigation.
